No New Posts Tokyo Metropolis

Tokyo is one of those cities big and colorful enough to feel like several cities, mashed into one. From the vivid parks and markets of Ueno, to the glamourous high-fashion of Ginza or the antique bookshops of Jinbōchō. The storm riding scene is fresh and rising here, and while some are dismissing it as just the newest fad, many budding storm riders and link tuners are moving to Tokyo to join greater teams. It's a humid, expensive and competitive place to be in, but if you're aiming for the top, it's where you should be.

No New Posts Kyoto

As no house is allowed to reach above the directives the city council has set, Kyoto's skyline is uniquely flat. It's cherished by city architects for its beauty, and by Storm Riders for the freedom it provides - riding in Kyoto tends to be peaceful and free, unlike the harsh rat racing of Tokyo and Osaka. Even though it's one of Japan's biggest cities, and therefore highly technological under the obsolete surface, it still has an air of times passed and tranquility to it, a city known for its many temples rather than anything else.

No New Posts Hokkaido

The furthest north of Japan's four main islands, and the least developed. In the winter, it's a popular place for snow sculpting and winter sports, but needless to say, because of the colder climate, the interest for AT riding is less here than elsewhere in Japan. Instead, coming here for training or hiking is popular - with the active volcano Usu, its many surrounding mountains, the tremendous wildlife and then of course, relaxing in Hokkaido's capital, Sapporo, known for its beer, ramen and the historic village, built to look like it would have a hundred years ago.

No New Posts Kyuushuu

In the south lies Kyuushuu, the warmest and friendliest Japanese Island. To get here, you have to cross the Kanmon Bridge, a 712 metres/779 yards long monstrosity popular for nighttime races. A lot of history lays buried here, from the pottery of Arita to the very first official Air Trek racing track. It's much warmer here than the rest of Japan, but nevertheless, the many beaches has tight competition from hot springs and luscious forest hikes.

No New Posts Shikoku

The smallest of Japan's four main islands. For a long while, it looked like Shikoku would keep being a sleepy, forgotten part of Japan, but in the early 2000's it started to pick up.

Then, year 2032, the great Shikoku earthquake happened, with a 7.1 magnitude, it essentially almost wiped down the island. And with it fell the Akashi Kaikyo bridge, the world's longest suspension bridge; just snapped in half. The other bridges were also shaken enough to be deemed unstable, so all contact with the mainland was now once again bound to ferries and airplanes. Hence, the momentum Shikuko has gained was all but lost. Most larger businesses simply moved to the main island of Japan, Honshuu. A few stayed, trying to rebuild their homes and shops with the money collected from the government, but entire villages were now simply ... Gone.
